At the beginning of 2020, we were honoured to create the official Aftermovie for the Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show - this year titled “INBLOOM”, raising funds for Glasgow Women’s Aid.
Covering the massive SWG3 venue was no easy task, and a Helmworks team of 4 people with multiple cameras ensured that both front and back of house could be covered effectively - with the star of the show, our Sony FS5ii camera with Sony 70-200 f/2.8 G Master lens, providing beautiful frontal shots of each of the models as they walked down the catwalk surrounded by the crowd.
After the show, the real challenge began - editing 2 hours of constant footage, multiplied by 4 cameras, into a 5 minute aftermovie representative of the event. The soundtrack (a remix of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now”) was licensed specifically for this video from Warner Music.
The video was released to an incredibly positive reception on Facebook, enjoying 3000 views, over 100 likes, and 60 shares in the first day after launch. This sixth annual GUCFS was incredibly successful, raising £43,047.54 for Glasgow Women’s Aid. We had an amazing time covering this live event, and it’s something we’re looking to do much more going forwards. Thanks for a great evening GUCFS!
